My group focusses on the development and assessment of new targeted therapies for haematologic malignancies, principally lymphoid lymphomas and leukaemias, with a specific emphasis on the BCL2 family of apoptotic inhibitors.  These laboratory studies are closely linked to early phase clinical studies performed in the Hope Clinical Trials Facility in Leicester Royal Infirmary; a particular strength of the group is reverse translational studies.

SEND Study Success

Congratulations to Chris Avery, who with collaborating colleagues published findings of the SEND study, a multi-centre randomised trial using two different surgical protocols for mouth cancer treatment.  A nationwide first for this type of trial, using real-world data.  The paper, published in the British Journal of Cancer, is available by clicking this link: SEND Paper
