The Need - The Impact

Future of Medicine

People who, just ten years ago, would have been expected to die are alive and well today, thanks in part to advances in healthcare developed in Leicester. When the first doctors and medical students arrived at Leicester Medical School in 1975, none of them could have dreamt of the advances in medical diagnosis, treatment and care available today.

We now have a chance to build on that success with our Centre for Medicine Appeal. You can make a difference and save lives.

Healthcare has been rapidly reshaped by research breakthroughs and advances in knowledge – totally transforming lives and the future of medicine. These changes also create new challenges for the way we train doctors, treat patients and address long-term conditions.Future of Medicine

The University of Leicester has therefore committed £32million of its scarce capital resources to establish the Centre for Medicine to help address these challenges and has launched a fundraising appeal to raise a further £10million to complete and equip the new facility.
