An introduction to using NVivo 11 Mar 28, 2018 from 09:30 AM to 04:30 PM
The aim of this workshop is to provide a practical introduction to NVivo11. The workshop will suit those who are complete beginners and those who have looked at the software and tried to use it in a limited extent. The focus is on gaining confidence in setting up a project efficiently, managing and organising data, exploring and conceptualising data and interrogating and visualising data. The same sample data is used by everyone during the workshop to enable the group to focus on the same tasks at the same time. Please note: This is an NVivo 11 for Windows course. Participants using the Mac version are welcome to attend but the course will cover the functions available for the Windows version, which are not all the same for the Mac version. Participants should bring their own laptops if possible.

The aim of these workshops is to provide guidance on how to deal with more advanced issues arising when using NVivo11. This workshop is for researchers who have been using the software for a real project for some time. Participants will be asked at the time of booking for information about their progress with the software and the aspects for which they require support such that the workshop can be tailored specifically for those attending.

This short session will give you a brief introduction to the different Student Lifecycle Systems and how they are used to store, administer and manage aspects of the student lifecycle from admission to graduation. SITS is the main database at the centre of all the systems and has a web interface known as MyStudentRecord. SITS also links to other systems such as CMIS (Timetabling), Blackboard VLE and Business Objects. As well as familiarising you with these systems and the terminology used you will also learn about new systems that have been recently implemented into the student lifecycle. This is a high level overview of the Student Lifecycle Systems, it is not a hands-on PC session.
