Alumni Association Student Grants

Each year, the Standing Committee of the Alumni Association offers a total of £1,000 in the form of grants of up to £500 to support student societies and groups.

The Committee is able to award student grants thanks to the support of University of Leicester alumni who established the Convocation Jubilee Endowment Fund in 1981 to commemorate the University's Diamond Jubilee.

The University of Leicester Students’ Union, recently introduced the Student Group Accreditation Scheme (SAS), which provides an overview of the activities a group will need to achieve in order to receive their accreditation and a group level.

In support of  SAS, this year the grants awarded by the Standing Committee of the Alumni Association will have a preference for projects which involve alumni and are reflective of ‘Level 3 – Aim 3’ of the Accreditation Scheme. A total amount of £1,000 will be shared among successful applications and grants will only be made available to societies or groups, not to individuals.

Applications will open at 12 noon on Wednesday 9th November 2016 and will close at midnight on Friday 9th December 2016. All applications should be submitted online via the form below.

Successful applicants will be notified by email and grants will be disbursed in January 2017.

The decision of the Standing Committee of the Alumni Association shall be final and there is no right of appeal.
