About us

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations exists to maintain strong links with graduates, parents, friends, the wider community and supporters of the University.

Find out about:

The office is responsible for encouraging and stewarding philanthropic gifts to support a range of needs, including bursaries for students, campus facilities and state-of-the-art research equipment.

Graduates become a member of the alumni community on graduation day. This ever-growing community gives access to a terrific resource which can be called upon at any time.

Alumni are able to keep up-to-date with University and graduate news through the annual alumni magazine Gryphon, regular e-newsletters, and via the alumni social media channels. Events are also a popular way for graduates to reconnect, from the annual Black Tie Dinner in London, to Leicester on Tour events and organised reunions.

Chapters are a great way for alumni to stay connected to the University and fellow alumni around the world. These can be organised as either informal or formal groups, designed to help you reconnect, network, and socialise with each other.

There are a number of ways current students can get involved. The University is a charity and was founded on philanthropic donations from local families - and we'd love you to get involved to help us in our fundraising efforts.

We are an organisational member of the Institute of Fundraising and the Fundraising Regulator. We are committed to achieving the highest standards of fundraising by signing up to the Codes of Fundraising Practice.

As part of our promise to donors we are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and so agree that our fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful. Find out more about our Donor Charter.

We are also a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
