About Us

The Development and Alumni Relations Office exists to maintain strong links with graduates, parents, friends and supporters of the University of Leicester through a programme of events, services and communications.

One of the best ways we can do this is by helping you to set up alumni chapters. These can be organised as either informal or formal alumni groups, designed to help you reconnect, network, and socialise with each other. They can also help the university with particular projects such as increasing student recruitment, launching a fundraising appeal, volunteering to mentor students or recent graduates, or helping us organise events linked to our forthcoming Centenary.

We are also responsible for encouraging and stewarding philanthropic gifts to support a range of needs, including bursaries for students, campus facilities and state-of-the-art research equipment.

Alumni are able to keep up-to-date with University and graduate news through our annual magazine, regular e-newsletters, and via our alumni social media channels. Our programme of events is also a popular way for graduates to reconnect, from the annual Alumni Black Tie Dinner in London, to our Leicester on Tour events and reunions for alumni and their families.

Graduates automatically join our Alumni Association on graduation day. The Association gives access to a terrific resource which can be called upon at any time. Whether you are seeking career opportunities or support, fellow University of Leicester alumni and the Alumni Relations Office can give the assistance you need.

Your relationship with the Development and Alumni Relations Office doesn't only begin when you finish your studies. There are a number of ways you can get involved. The University is a charity and was founded on philanthropic donations from local families - and we'd love you to get involved to help us in our fundraising efforts. From helping with bucket collections to running a marathon, you could support everything from student societies to lifesaving medical research.

We are an organisational member of the Institute of Fundraising and the Fundraising Regulator. We are committed to achieving the highest standards of fundraising by signing up to the Codes of Fundraising Practice.

As part of our promise to donors we are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and so agree that our fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful. Find out more about our Donor Charter.
