Part 2: Practical Skills for Managing Performance, Conduct and Conflict at Work (Practical workshop)
-
This two part course is aimed at any member of staff who has team management responsibility (unless it has been identified and agreed as part of PDD development that it would be beneficial for you to attend this course). The course gives an overview of the University’s Ordinances, Policies and Procedures and your role and responsibilities and those of HR, as well as providing an opportunity for you to explore and practice practical approaches and techniques when managing conduct, conflict and performance issues that may arise with your staff. The course will look at both informal options for resolving issues, as well as the need to escalate to formal processes using relevant University Ordinances. Delegates are required to complete Part 1 on Blackboard, before attending Part 2, a practical workshop which will give you the opportunity to develop and practice key skills in a supportive learning environment. Part 2 of the course (the practical workshop) is available in two versions, one aimed at Academic and Research staff, the other aimed at Professional services and Corporate services staff. We invite you to attend the course version that you believe most accurately describes the type of work you and your team are involved in.
