Linear Regression Model using R (Part One)
This session will extend the basic statistical concepts of hypothesis testing to more complex modelling scenarios encountered in many datasets. It will begin with an introduction of a simple linear regression model and the statistical theory underpinning such a model. It will then move to more complex modelling scenarios including multiple regression, polynomial regression and non-linear regression. The session will explain the strategies of data analyses, interpretation of model outcomes and practical issues relevant to such models. It aims to combine both the theoretical background of statistical principles and its implementation in the R software environment so that attendees understand both the concepts and its applications. Both dates must be attended, part two is scheduled for Fri 16 February 2018 1200-1700.

An introduction to using NVivo 11
The aim of this workshop is to provide a practical introduction to NVivo11. The workshop will suit those who are complete beginners and those who have looked at the software and tried to use it in a limited extent. The focus is on gaining confidence in setting up a project efficiently, managing and organising data, exploring and conceptualising data and interrogating and visualising data. The same sample data is used by everyone during the workshop to enable the group to focus on the same tasks at the same time. Please note: This is an NVivo 11 for Windows course. Participants using the Mac version are welcome to attend but the course will cover the functions available for the Windows version, which are not all the same for the Mac version. Participants should bring their own laptops if possible.
