Full entry requirements

First Year

You will take two modules in International Relations since 1945 and Current Issues in International Relations, as well as an introductory module analysing systems of government. You will also take three History modules, including the core modules in The Making of the Modern World and Europe Reshaped, 1815-1914.

Second Year

You will take at least two modules in International Relations, choosing from International Theory, Globalisation, The Making of Contemporary US Foreign Policy and International Security Studies, and one further Politics option. You will also select core modules in History in the first semester, and optional modules from a wide choice in the second semester. Students doing a dissertation in International Relations will also do a module in political analysis.

Third Year

You will take four modules in International Relations and History from a broad range offered by both departments, and also plan, research and write up your independent dissertation project (worth two modules) on your chosen topic in International Relations or History.
