A/AS-levels

Three A-levels usually required including Chemistry. Two AS-levels considered in place of one A-level. General Studies accepted.

GCSE

Grade A GCSE Mathematics is required if Mathematics is not held at A or AS-level.

Access to HE Diploma

Pass the relevant diploma with all credits at distinction.

European Baccalaureate

Pass with 75% overall for the BSc and 80% for the MChem including Grade 8 in Chemistry.

International Baccalaureate

Pass Diploma with 30 points for BSc programmes (with grade 5 in Chemistry) or 34 points for MChem programmes including grade 6 in Chemistry.

Cambridge Pre-U

BSc - M2/M2/M2, MChem - D3/D3/M2 in Principal Subjects, including Chemistry.

BTEC Nationals

BTEC Diploma in Applied Science with DDD, plus an A-level in Chemistry and any subject/GCSE requirements.

Other Qualifications

Other national and international qualifications welcomed.

Mature students welcomed

Alternative qualifications considered.

Second Year Entry

Possible for those with advanced qualifications compatible with our degree structure.

Applicants are normally interviewed.

All applicants receiving an offer will be invited to visit the Department.

These degrees are not available on a part-time basis.
