BA Politics - 3rd year

About Me

I’m Natasha, and I’m currently in third year studying BA Politics. I’m 21 years old, and I’m from Leicester. I’m sitting my final exams at the moment, having just finished my dissertation. I’ve had a great time at the University of Leicester, and I’m not looking forward to leaving at all! I would like to study for a Masters in the future, but at the moment I’m looking for a graduate job in the big wide world.

Hobbies and Interests

I’m very interested in politics, and like to keep up to date with current affairs. I’ve been active within the University’s Politics Society, and am a member of the Hope Not Hate Society. In my second year, I founded the (very successful) Baking Society, providing hundreds of students with a forum to relax and eat free cake, which was a much needed service! I’ve also taken part in some volunteering during my time at university, which has been very rewarding. I am also a Student Ambassador for the University, a paid position in which I give advice and tours to prospective students. I’ve loved getting stuck in during my time here, and I’ve made so many great friends.

Advice for prospective students

Don’t be nervous! A lot of students feel shy and overwhelmed when they come here, but it’s important to remember that everyone is in the same boat. Everyone here is so friendly, and they make sure that you feel eased into the whole process. Also, it’s a good idea to make the most of every opportunity that comes your way – you’re only at university once, and you want to make it an experience you won’t forget.
