Tania
About me
My name is Tania. I am from Mexico City and my mother tongue is Spanish. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and after several years of work experience I decided to come back to university to study a Masters in Globalization and Communication at the University of Leicester. After I finish my studies I would like to get work experience in the UK, and I am looking for an internship or job in a UK company. My dream come true would be to work for an international organization in order to develop the relationships between Latin American countries and developed countries, because helping people is what I enjoy the most.
Hobbies and Interests
I love singing and dancing so for that reason I am member of the Choral Society, and the Modern Dance Society of the University. Also I am Vice-President of the Latin American Society, the main objective of which is promoting our language and culture. I really enjoy listening to music and going to the movies. I like to take advantage of the different programmes the University offers, such as the Experience Employability Programme, which I have just accomplished successfully, and where I had the opportunity to meet potential employers.
Advice for Prospective Students
As an International Student, I would suggest to new students to enjoy and take advantage of your time at the University as much as you can. The University offers a great amount of facilities, such as the gym, the Student Development Zone, the Students’ Union, more than a hundred societies, tutorials, a great library, and much more so that we enjoy our time as students. So forget about feeling homesick and HAVE FUN while you are studying. Everything is in your hands. One of the best times in life is to be a student.
