02 Academy Leicester
Opened in September 2010 the O2 Academy Leicester consists of three fantastic venues with students able to get priority tickets for many of these events. Artists performing in just the first term included Professor Green, Plan B and The Magic Numbers.
The arts are a valuable and thriving part of campus life. Embrace Arts at the RA (Richard Attenborough) Centre has a packed programme of music, dance, art exhibitions and comedy. It houses a 180-seat performance area, gallery space, studios and a cafe bar.
Sport is an important feature of Leicester student life. Our accessible and modern gym facilities on campus and in the Oadby student village allow you to unwind, keep fit or train for competition. With more than 30 sports clubs welcoming students at any level, there are opportunities for everyone. Clubs range from football, rugby and hockey, to snowboarding, surfing and Tae Kwon-Do.
Our sports facilities include pitches for football, rugby, cricket and lacrosse along with a floodlit all-weather pitch, five a side pitch, nine tennis courts, an athletics track, two sports halls, a weights room, two health and fitness clubs and squash courts.
At least one bursary per term is awarded by the Sports Association to assist sportsmen and women to pursue their chosen sport. Bursaries are not guaranteed but are awarded on merit.
