Online Applications
You can use the online application form to apply for most PhD, MPhil, and professional doctorate programmes.
Completing Your Application
Unfortunately, you cannot use the online application form to apply for the:
We strongly recommend that you find out more about your intended course of study and the School/Department before completing the application form - please see the relevant programme description.
You should ensure that your application is completed fully and includes:
- your research proposal and/or personal statement as required
- other supporting documents
- information as to how you will be paying your fees
At the end of the online application form you will be given the opportunity to upload electronic copies of any supporting documents you are providing with your application - such as copies of your academic qualifications.
We accept uploaded files up to 1MB in size and in any of the following formats: .doc, .pdf, .jpg, .gif, .htm, .xls, and .txt.
If you encounter any difficulties in uploading your supporting documents or would prefer to send these by post, please include a covering letter stating your full name, contact details, and the type of degree you are applying for to:

Alternatively, if you have access to a scanner, you can scan your supporting documents and return these by email to pgadmissions@le.ac.uk
References
If you are submitting your application online and can provide us with an email address for each of your referees, we will contact them by email and provide a secure link that they can use to upload their reference directly to the online applications system - or, alternatively, attached to the email will be a template which they can download and print and return the reference by post.
