Urban Conservation Masters
This exciting new course - which started in October 2011 - will be attractive to anyone wanting to work with conservation agencies like English Heritage or to research the historic urban environment.
Based in the School of Historical Studies' Centre for Urban History, it brings together the expertise of some of the University of Leicester’s top departments - like the School of Museum Studies and Department of Geology - with leading conservation practitioners. You can choose whether to specialise in the humanities and policy side for the MA, focusing on issues such as heritage and sustainability of cities, or look into the scientific techniques of conserving the material past for the MSc.
Whichever route you take, you will benefit from Leicester’s unique resources and the experience of professional experts, who will familiarise you with the latest approaches to preserving and enhancing cities, from Leicester to Mumbai. Following on the Masters you will be equipped to apply for jobs in conservation, heritage, and planning or to pursue doctoral research in this rapidly expanding field.
