The School of Archaeology and Ancient History is pleased to offer seven bursaries for October 2012 entry to its four full-time Masters programmes. The bursaries are worth £1,000 each payable as a reduction of the course fee.
Archaeology and Ancient History at Leicester
The School of Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Leicester comprises a thriving and world-class team of scholars engaged in cutting-edge research and delivering teaching to the highest standards.
Internationally recognised, the School has established strengths in prehistoric, Graeco-Roman, historical and scientific archaeology, as well as in ancient historical analyses of the cultures, economies, and politics of the classical world.
These bursaries are available for entry to the School's:
- MA in Archaeology (with pathways in prehistory, bioarchaeology, and medieval archaeology)
- MA in Archaeology of the Roman World
- MA in The Classical Mediterranean
- MA in Historical Archaeology
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have an upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in archaeology, ancient history, or a related discipline and meet the University's standard English language entry requirements.
Please note that the bursaries will be allocated on the basis of the overall strength of the application - including consideration of previous academic attainment, relevant experience, references, and personal statement.
The bursaries are open to suitable UK/EU and international (i.e., outside the EU) applicants. The bursaries are for full-time campus based study only and applicants must be able to commence their studies in October 2012.

Alternatively, you can use the postal application form. The closing date for receipt of applications is 31 March 2012. We expect to notify the successful applicants by the end of April 2012.
