PGCE Secondary Education
Duration and mode of study
One year full-time. Students spend 24 of the 36 weeks in school-based placements.
Start Dates
September each year.
Entry requirements
In addition to a relevant degree, applicants must have a GCSE or equivalent grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics. Please consult our website to find detailed explanations of recruitment and selection processes and criteria for each subject specialism.
Course specialisms
One main teaching specialism from the following:
- English
- Modern Languages
- Geography
- Social Science
- Citizenship Education
- Mathematics
- Mathematics with Physics
- Biology with Core Science
- Chemistry with Core Science
- Physics with Core Science
- Physics with Mathematics
Students following a Science subject course are also required to follow a second subject course in a complementary Science.
