About our Taught Campus-based Courses

The University has an extensive range of taught postgraduate provision enabling you to benefit from high quality teaching informed by innovative research.
The quality of our postgraduate teaching has been judged by the government’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) to be among the best in the country, and all departments assessed by the QAA since March 1998 have been rated as excellent, a record which just one other university has been able to match. The University prides itself not only on the range of its programmes but also on its ability to offer courses in a flexible way which students appreciate.
The majority of campus-based courses are taken over one year full-time or two years part-time, although not all courses are available as both full and part-time options. Some courses can be taken over two or more years by distance learning (see our distance learning degrees). All taught courses are modular and credits are accumulated for each part of the course. Postgraduate Certificates are made up of 60 credits, Postgraduate Diplomas of 120 credits and Master’s degrees of 180 credits.
