Entry requirements
The programme is specifically tailored for qualified and experienced doctors who currently operate in the cosmetic medicine market. As such the minimum requirement for entry is an MBChB or equivalent, with full registration with the GMC or equivalent and at least two years of practice post graduation.
The course is restricted to EU residents only.

Course aims
This programme provides a comprehensive theoretical foundation for doctors in the field of cosmetic medicine. The programme places a strong emphasis on the ethical and legal considerations particular to cosmetic medicine, establishing competency in all commonly used cosmetic techniques and enhancing professional accountability and decision-making skills in practice.

- Module 1: Anatomy and Physiology, Dermatology and Health Promotion
- Module 2: Ethics and Law
- Module 3: Skin Care, Chemical Denervation and Dermal Fillers
Teaching and assessment methods
The course is studied by distance learning and is based upon the principles of continuous assessment. Methods used will include personal reflective exercises, guided reading, portfolio of competency in practice, assessed practical sessions and OSCE style assessment.
All modules are mandatory and have to be passed separately. Total time expected to be spent on studying is a minimum of 600 hours.
The course focuses solely on theory. We do expect all students undertaking the course to have received practical training in Chemical Denervation and Dermal Fillers; this will be assessed in the OSCE. Access to patients is required for video assessment in module 3.
