Open days

We encourage all prospective students to visit the University if possible. Even if you already live in Leicester, an organised visit to the campus will allow you to find out more than you ever could from a book or website. If you think you know about Leicester – or if you don’t know anything about Leicester – you will be surprised at what we can offer when you see it for yourself.

Undergraduate Open Days

We hold a number of Open Days throughout the summer to give you the chance to meet some of our current students and staff. These Open Days provide an opportunity to hear about how exciting and rewarding the student experience is at the University of Leicester and to ask questions about how you might be able to make the most of your time at Leicester.

In this three minute video you will hear from current and prospective students about their experiences and what to expect on a University of Leicester Open Day.

2010 Dates

General Open Days

  • Friday 2 July 2010
  • Friday 23 July 2010
  • Saturday 25 September 2010
  • Saturday 9 October 2010

Focus on Medicine Day

This will be held by the Medical School and will concentrate on our Medical, Biological and Psychology courses.

  • Saturday 19 June 2010

Campus facilities will be open throughout each day for you to visit at your leisure. You will be able to:

  • hear from lecturers and students about all our subject areas
  • get to know our main campus and the accommodation at our Oadby Student Village
  • find out more about making your UCAS application
  • learn how finance and student support is arranged

We hope the programme will give you the flexibility to choose the activities that are of most interest to you.

Once you have booked your place - which can also be done by returning the card included with our printed prospectus - we will send you a programme for the day.

Student on a campus tourUCAS Applicant Visit Days

Students who apply to Leicester and receive an offer of a place will also be invited to attend a UCAS Applicant Visit Day between December and April. These dates offer you the chance to have an in-depth meeting with the Department you have applied to, as well as the opportunity to see the campus, visit the accommodation and hear from our current students.

Other opportunities to visit

If you are unable to attend one of the above organised days, please feel free to contact the Student Recruitment Office on 0116 252 2674 or study@le.ac.uk to arrange your own visit.

We will be happy to arrange individual campus tours led by one of our Leicester Ambassadors and you can contact the Department you are interested in to enquire about meeting with one of their staff.

Postgraduate Open Days

We do not currently organise University-wide open days for prospective postgraduate students. Please contact your chosen Department to enquire about departmental open days and visits.
