The University charges an annual Tuition Fee to UK and EU students (and a different fee to students from outside the EU). Loans are available to UK students (and some EU students) to cover the cost of this fee.
Grants, bursaries and loans are available, under certain circumstances, to UK students to cover living expenses.
Students applying in certain subject areas, who achieve a set minimum in their A-levels (or equivalent exams) are entitled to a one-off scholarship from the University of Leicester.

Applying for financial support
You can apply for financial support, including your bursary and any loans from April of each year at www.studentfinance.direct.gov.uk. You will be asked to specify which university you hope to attend. The information you provide will be used to calculate:
- Your loans entitlement
- Your Maintenance or Special Support Grant entitlement
- Your bursary entitlement
You will receive a letter notifying you about your loan entitlement and your Maintenance or Special Support Grant entitlement. You can apply for a University of Leicester Bursary at the same time as you apply for other financial assistance as long as you state at that point that you are willing for your financial details to be shared with the University. Your entitlement will be automatically processed and you will receive a letter from the University if you are entitled to a bursary.
