We’re inviting students, staff and friends of the University to the first Leicester Weekend 17–19 June

Featuring activities, sports and networking opportunities The Leicester Weekend offers a great opportunity to celebrate and discover more about the work and achievements of the University of Leicester.

The weekend will start on Friday with a tour of the Richard III Visitor Centre and an exclusive chance to hear Dr Turi King and members of the team who made the ground-breaking discovery talk about ‘What happened next!’

On Saturday 18 June, we will be opening up our campus to the public and giving visitors the chance to hear the stories behind the current ‘Buzz About Leicester’. Stories from the University’s history, the recent success of Leicester City Football Club and the impact this will have on the University and the City, and future developments at the University will be highlighted in a series of presentations.

There will also be a ‘Legends of Leicester’ exhibition with material from our Special Collections archive, a variety of interactive activities for children including our Teddy Bear Hospital and ‘Cool Chemists Make Ice Cream’, VIP Screenings of Sir David Attenborough’s recent lecture and lots more.

To round off Saturday’s activities, a Quiz Night at College Court will test your general knowledge and ‘Red Leicester The Re-Union 2016’ will take place at the O2 Academy in the Students’ Union and will be open to all until 6am!

You can book your place and see the full programme of events at www.le.ac.uk/the-leicester-weekend.
