University of Leicester marks the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.

The University of Leicester is proud to show its support and championing of the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which reminds non-transgender people that we are their sons, daughters, parents, friends and lovers.

It gives allies a chance to step forward and show support to transgender people, including our colleagues and students, as a way of acknowledging and opposing all forms of anti-transgender discrimination.

More information about the Transgender Day or Remembrance is available at their website.

The Leicester LGBT Centre is a voluntary organisation established to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Find out how they can support you on their website.

As a University we are committed to hearing the voices of LGBT+ people and therefore hold a regular LGBT+ Staff Forum. Find out how to get involved here. Membership of the group is open to any employee who is interested in advancing LGBT equalities issues or who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans (including those who are not ‘out’).
