The General Election takes place on Thursday 8 June.

On Thursday 8 June the 2017 General Election will take place. Polling stations will open at 7.00am and close at 10.00pm.

This is an incredibly important election as whichever Government is elected will have to make sweeping decisions about the UK's future in the wake of the Brexit vote. If you are eligible and registered to vote, you should have already received your polling card by post which gives you details about your assigned polling station. If you have registered but have not received or have misplaced your polling card, you can still vote as you do not need to take the polling card with you to the polling station.

  • You can find out where your polling station is by entering your postcode here. →
  • If you are yet to decide who to vote for, you can find more information about the main parties' policies and manifesto pledges on the BBC website.
