Do you want to learn about the limits on Earth’s resources, climate change, the collapse of past societies, the security of food supplies and how technology can play a role in the future of sustainable development?

In this course, which is available to all current University of Leicester students and staff, you will:

  • Observe the responsibilities of the individual in a global community
  • Investigate how different disciplines, when combined, can create solutions to worldwide problems and help ensure a sustainable lifestyle for future generations
  • Gain insight into collaborative actions towards a sustainable future.

You can gain recognition for this course as it is accredited on your Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR) if you complete enough of the assessed materials.

It will run from 25 January-6 May, however you can work at your own pace using the online lectures, associated reading and assessments.

Web forums and fortnightly online discussions will be available to talk about your progress and thoughts on the content with a member of academic staff and other students on the course.

We will hold an information session about the course in the Students’ Union in January which we will advertise closer to the time. You can also fill out a form on the website to receive an update.

For more information and to register for the course visit the Sustainable Futures Webpage.
