Competition for Vietnamese students: 'UK in my Eyes'
From Thursday, 25 August 2011, all Vietnamese students studying in the UK and UK alumni can join the 'UK in my Eyes' competition. Here they can share their most memorable experiences and thoughts and emotions regarding their time in the UK and have a chance to win return airfares to the UK. The competition will run until 31 December 2011.
Winners of second and third prizes will be awarded either an Ipad 2 or travel tokens worth ten million Vietnamese dong.
The competition 'UK in my Eyes' is organised by the British Council Vietnam in collaboration with two UK Alumni Associations: UK Alumni Association in Vietnam (UKAV) and Vietnamese Professionals in the UK (VietPro – the network of UK alumni who are now living and working in the UK). The competition is sponsored by three UK universities: The University of Northampton; University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol and The University of Salford; and supported in the media by The Pupils’ Flower newspaper – one of the most popular newspapers for the youth in Vietnam.
The competition 'UK in my Eyes' will be a bridge between the community of Vietnamese students in the UK and young people in Vietnam. It also creates an exiting platform for them to tell their stories in the most creative and emotive way.
The competition is open to all Vietnamese students who have finished their studies or are currently still studying in the UK (both in short and long term courses such as foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational programmes or summer study exchange etc). UK alumni who are currently living and working in Vietnam or overseas are also welcome to join the competition.
Contestants can submit their entries in either of the two following ways:
- Writing an article: The article should not be longer than 1,500 words, typed and with images attached, then emailed to the Organisation Board.
- Making a slideshow of images or a video clip: The slideshow or video clip should have subtitles and be sent in the format of original files to the Organisation Board (links are not accepted).
Audiences who simply love the UK can join the competition too, by voting for their most favourite contestants every month and they can win exciting voting prizes. Contestants who have highest monthly votes will win the prize of the month.
