Dr Louise Anderson from the Department of Geology's Borehole Research Group will give a talk live by satellite from a ship in the middle of the Atlantic on Friday 11 November - all welcome.

Leicester's own Dr Louise Anderson is currently sailing as the Logging Scientist onboard the scientific research vessel JOIDES Resolution as part of the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program's Expedition 336 Mid-Atlantic Ridge Flank Microbiology.

On Friday 11 November Louise will give us, via satellite link, a unique tour of the ship and will hopefully introduce us to a few of the people she is sailing with. There will be the opportunity to ask her questions about her role on the ship, how the expedition is going and what life at sea is really like. The talk will be very informal; all staff and students from any department are welcome and encouraged to attend!

The talk takes place in the Bennet Building, room G72 (Teaching Area 2) between 2.00pm and 3.00pm this Friday, 11 November.
