- PhD students in any discipline are invited to an evening event on 22 March 2011 exploring the career prospects in law, security, criminology, forensic science and related areas. The event takes place in the Ogden Lewis Seminar Suite, Fielding Johnson Building South Wing.

Recycling Rates on the Increase!
- At the beginning of January 2011 Wastecycle, a Nottingham based waste management company, took over the University’s contract for waste and recycling collections. Preliminary reports indicate that recycling rates across the entire campus (Academic Campus and Halls of Residence) may reach 60% by the end of 2011.

- This year sees the return of the ‘I love my academic’ campaign coordinated by the Students’ Union. It is your chance to nominate your favourite academic or one that has made a difference to your experience here at the University. The SU is asking you to nominate an academic who has been particularly engaging, innovative or supportive in their teaching.

University Wildlife Plans - volunteers sought
- In September 2010 the University of Leicester held its first Biodiversity Working Group meeting. The group consists of academic and student representatives as well as representatives from local councils and charitable wildlife groups too.
