After an overwhelming response, the Big Green Week prize draw winners have now been notified. Lucky winners from over 3,000 entries bagged prizes such as bike vouchers, laptops, organic wine and much more.

As part of the University’s Big Green Week 2010 staff, students and visitors were able to collect BGW stamps as entries to the draw for a number of eco-prizes. Stamps could be collected by attending events, calculating your carbon footprint or by filling out the evaluation form – we are delighted that so many of you got involved.

Big Green Week 2010 launched the University’s commitment to a 60% carbon emissions reduction target by 2020 and staff and students were asked to commit to this vision as well as play their part in making it a reality. One of the ways in which staff can help towards reaching this target is by taking part in the Green Impact project, an environmental accreditation scheme for departments.

Some of the winners included local resident Margaret Bowen, student Nikol Valeninova, staff member Anne-Marie Bond and Student Union sabbatical officer Tom Wilmot.
