Alcohol Campaign
An advent calendar has been jointly launched by agencies in Leicester as part of a campaign to promote responsible drinking over the Christmas and New Year period.
The initiative is not about stopping people from enjoying a few drinks and having a good night out with friends; it is about the importance of individuals drinking responsibly - the consequences of misusing alcohol could lead to health problems, disorderly or illegal behaviour and possible police action. Clearly this impacts not just on the individual involved but on all the agencies in Leicester working to keep our city safe.
The Student Healthy Living Service and the Students' Union are committed to supporting students to do well with their exams as they return to University after the Christmas vacation. Providing messages about how to stay safe whilst enjoying the Christmas season will be incorporated into the Students' Union 'Get Fit for Exams' campaign.
Safety messages can be received on Wednesday 15 December 2010 at lunch time in the Students’ Union. To receive messages have your ‘Blue Tooth’ on!
The advent calendar is sent to you on behalf of the Safer Leicester Partnership which includes Leicestershire Constabulary, NHS Leicester City, the Safer Leicester Partnership Drug and Alcohol Action Team, Leicestershire and Rutland Probation Service, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, the University of Leicester and Students’ Union, De Montfort University and Students’ Union, and Leicester College.
