Getting Started
IT Services
To use central computing services you need to be registered with IT Services and have a computer account, often called a 'CFS account'. Once registered you will have a user name ('CFS id') and password which you can use to log in to your email and other central services.
Remember when you are using University provided computing services you are bound by our Regulations of Use and Acceptable Use of Services.
Your departmental IT contact will be able to register you for an CFS account. If you are having difficulty contact the IT Service Desk via ithelp@le.ac.uk or 0116 252 2253.
Security
To apply for a permit to park you will need to complete application form available from the Security Office.
You may also need to apply for an access swipe card for your building.
Human Resources
Employee Development Induction Programme
You will be invited to attend an Introduction to the University of Leicester event after joining the University. There is also an online induction resource available which highlights important information you will need in the first few weeks of joining the University. You will need to have obtained a CFS account before you can access this course which is run through Blackboard, the University's virtual learning environment.

Academic Practice Unit
The Academic Practice Unit supports the initial and continuing professional development of staff engaged in teaching, research and academic leadership activities across the University. We provide courses, workshops and accredited programmes, and work with colleges, departments and individuals for bespoke professional development.
