Researchers in the department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour are looking for participants to take part in a study assessing eye movements and memory.

Participation in the study requires you to view a number of words on a scene, followed by completing an eye movement task. There are four conditions to the eye movement task, including horizontal and vertical eye movements, fixating on a single point or closing your eyes. Each of these conditions will last for 30 seconds. After each condition you will be asked to recall as many of the words presented prior to that condition.

The study will take approximately one hour to complete.

The experiments take place in the Centre for Medicine. To compensate you for your time, you will receive £5/hr honorarium for taking part.

To sign up for a study you must meet the eligibility criteria:

  • Aged 18 to 30 years old
  • Have no history of dyslexia
  • Be a native UK English speaker (learnt English in the UK before the age of 5).
  • Be right-handed

If you would like to take part, or you would like more information, then please contact alynak44@gmail.com or kbp3@leicester.ac.uk.
