Windows 10 will be available on University PCs from summer 2017

Currently the University provides Windows 7 on all University PCs which is where you login, run programs and access your files.

The Windows 10 upgrade is part of the Digital Campus improvements which is seeking to put digital at the heart of what we do at the University. To achieve this it important we move to a more modern operating system, which also provides many improvements and features, additional security and ensure we remain supported.

When you upgrade to Windows 10, Office 2016 will also be installed on your University PC, which is the latest suite of Office programs, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.

You will be able to upgrade at a time of your choosing; when you are satisfied that programs and features that you need for your work are available. Initially some programs and features may not be available and will be added over time. You will have the opportunity to test your programs to make sure they work on Windows 10 before you upgrade.
