As part of its preparations for REF 2014 the University has published its Code of Practice which explains how the University will select staff for inclusion into its REF submission.

Every member of staff who is eligible for submission to REF 2014 is required to read the Code of Practice and complete the REF Individual staff circumstances disclosure form which can be found at the back of the document. The form should be signed by the individual and the relevant Head of Department and returned to Chris Sharp,  Equalities Adviser in Human Resources. This will ensure that any personal circumstances which may have affected an individual’s capacity to produce research outputs can be taken into account in the selection process.

The REF 2014 Code of Practice can be accessed from the University’s Equalities Unit webpage

All Heads of Department will also be given copies of the Code which they will make available to REF-eligible members of staff.

Staff who will be involved in making decisions about the selection of staff to the REF 2014 will also be taking part in specially designed Equality and Diversity training for REF Practitioners.
