Refurbishing the Ken Edwards Seminar Rooms: Your Views Requested

The Learning Spaces project led by Pro-Vice Chancellor Christine Fyfe has been gathering pace this year and work on rooms in the Attenborough building is currently being completed.  The project team are now moving on to look at other rooms, some of which need serious renovation.  Included in these are the large Ken Edwards Seminar rooms on Levels 3 and 5, which many staff have reported a finding unwieldy and difficult to teach in.  The project team also think that these spaces could be much better used , to be more flexible and accommodate a wider range of teaching styles.

We have looked at a number of different layouts and options for the rooms, but the next stage is to talk to the room users about how they would like to see the rooms be refurbished.  We will talk to students about this early next term, but now we want to gather staff views.

If you teach or have taught in the Level 3 and 5 seminar rooms, and have views you would like to express, or want to see what possibilities are already being considered, please come along to meetings to make your voice heard.

Venue: Ken Edwards Room 324

Times: 1.00pm Monday 2 April or 10.00am Wednesday 4 April

If you do intend to come, please let  Derek Cox(dlc14) know, so  that we can gauge numbers.

If you can’t make either meeting, please e-mail Derek Cox with your views.
