University Road - Partial Closure 16 April to 18 May

Part of University Road will be closed one-way to enable resurfacing work to take place. This closure is planned from Monday 16th April for a period of 1 month and will include a ban on traffic driving from Lancaster Road towards London Road, there also will be no parking along the roadside.  We are currently working with the contractors to ensure that access to University property is maintained. 

For staff who use the De Montfort Hall car park the traffic will be one way from London Road to Lancaster Road and access to this car park should remain with exiting to the left only.  The junction where Regent Road is coming from the town centre and joining University Road will only be open 5am - 6pm outside of this time the junction will be blocked and diversion signs will be in place. Regent Road coming down from Victoria park to the University Road junction will be open for traffic with left turn only.  NB. You will only be able to turn right from Lancaster Road.   

Arriva Bus Routes - Updated 1 May 2012

The number 47 bus, which travels from South Wigston to the bus depot at Charles Street via University Road, is now traveling down University Road and turning off at Lancaster Road. The 48 Bus on the return does the same.
