SWIFT in the news
An article on SWIFT recently appeared in the Birmingham Post describing the work Daden are doing to add functionality to the second virtual genetics laboratory created by the SWIFT team (see photo).
In fact, the work is coming along really well. When complete, 27 students at a time will, through their avatars, learn the techniques involved in screening for the inherited genetic diseases Huntington’s disease, sickle cell anaemia and cystic fibrosis. This virtual experience will allow students to go beyond what is currently possible as part of their existing (real world) lab classes.
It's just a matter of filling in the remaining gaps and fine-tuning the system now ready for the first run on November 24th.
