Abstract

This OER is drawn from a Masters-level online course and its general aims are to: (a) provide a good grasp of the specialized language of diplomacy, and especially negotiation; (b) emphasise that while the world diplomatic system has many tasks, its chief one is the negotiation of agreements; and (c) examine the purposes and problems of each of the main stages through which negotiation normally proceeds.
