As 21st-century scholars, most of our research takes place in cyberspace. This website will show you some of the many online resources that can be used for research.

Some of the most common research activities academics use the internet for are: 

• use RSS feeds to make your research information come to you
• download e-books and use e-readers
• use Google Scholar to find articles
• Use apps for reading and research

More social methods of gathering information are also becoming increasingly common, with academics using Twitter and YouTube to share resources and keep up to date.

These methods are not a replacement for traditional ways of conducting research, but many researchers use them to keep up to date and as a complement to database searches.
