Working as Partners

One of the longstanding student and staff partnerships in the University of Leicester is between GENIE and the Students' Union.  To date, there have been four successful partnership projects inverstigating areas affecting the student and staff experience. The projects have produced data to support recommendations for improvement and change.

Current Projects

Personal Tutor Project (2013 - present)

This project aims to explore if the student and staff experience of the personal tutor system is in line with the University's Code of Practice for Personal Support across the University.  The aim of the present Personal Tutor Project is to find out how well students and staff think the personal support system is working now after implementation of the Code of Practice.

Working As Partners (2012 - present)

The initial aim of the project was to organise a national one day conference which took place in November 2013, hosted by our research team.  This provided a platform for academic staff and students to discuss collaborative working within Higher Education.  The conference gave an opportunity to discuss partnerships, and focused on sharing ideas about how this can work in universities today.

Examples of Student Staff Partnerships at the University of Leicester

The project team is in the process of gathering examples of partnership working at the university.  A compendium of case studies is being developed to provide examples of best practice and to inform future debate for student-staff partnerships. If you would like to share any examples of partnership working please do so here.
