Available Facilities
By working with us, you will have access to state of the art technology including an IE33 Echocardiography machine, a 3.0 Tesla MRI scanner and other cardiovascular measurement equipment.
The BRU is also developing a bio resource of patient serum and plasma, supported and enhanced by a patient informatics database (BRICCS). This will become a very powerful tool for analysis of patient outcome data enabling more rapid translation of research questions into practice, the current capacity of this system will be in excess of 300,000 aliqots.
There is also a dedicated research facility which includes clinical examination rooms, echocardiography and exercise suites, and a research day case facility located very prominently in the heart of the Glenfield Hospital site, 50 yards from the main reception.
The BRU also has a strong team of support staff including research nurses, physiologists, database and data officers, statisticians and research governance officers to support you at all stages of your research from proposal, grant award, recruitment, investigation, analysis and presentation.
For further information regarding either the studentship programme or access to the BRU facilities please contact:
