The University Image Library
Image Library Web Site
The University Image Library is a brand new service which is available to all members of the University. It is a centralised asset library that uses a simple and intuitive browser based interface that allows you to find and download University photographs as well as logos and templates.
The Image Library will create resized and correctly optimised versions of the images at the time of download, in accordance with the predefined sizes we have set up to work with Plone. You will be able to crop images if they need to be an exact size or download the original hi-res version for printed publications. This is invaluable for those who don't want to get into the complicated technicalities of pixel sizes and formats, and ensures that you use the right sized image for the job.
We see this as a valuable centralised resource that everyone who is registered can benefit from and contribute to. As registered members you will be free to download your chosen assets directly to your desktop without having to approach the appropriate design service.
Are you a budding photographer?
Uploading files to the image library is as simple as downloading, so feel free to submit any suitable images. All uploaded content will go through a quality approval stage and have the relevant search criteria added before the asset becomes available to download. This is intended as a showcase of the best University of Leicester images and not a file storage system so only the very best will appear.
This service is managed by Multimedia Services
Please use the ‘Contact Us’ link on the site if you have any questions about the new service.
