Overview

The CRUK Leicester Centre comprises approximately 50 research groups located within University of Leicester departments, the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and the MRC Toxicology Unit populated by scientists, graduate students, clinical fellows and support staff.

Research is underpinned by strong basic Laboratoryscience, and our strategic intent is to build on this strength by expanding our translational and clinical research programmes.

Our priorities are to develop new prevention strategies and improved treatment options for cancer and to identify novel biological markers (biomarkers) for early detection and for monitoring treatment outcomes.

Our research is facilitated by state-of-the-art research laboratories, core biotechnology services and excellent infrastructure for early phase clinical trials.
