Accredited programmes - professional recognition scheme
This can be gained through either a recognised qualification or by individual application:- Qualification - Most higher education institutions offer their staff an M level programme on learning and teaching recognised by the HEA. For example, successful completion of the University of Leicester’s Post-graduate Certificate in Academic Practice leads to Associate Membership at the end of Phase One (30 M level credits) and Full Membership at the end of Phase Two (30 M level credits). As in many institutions, Phase One is a requirement of probation to staff new to teaching in the sector.

The HE Academy has apolished the annual renewal fee for Fellowship. The Academy hope this will enable a more inclusive approach to developing the community of fellowship and demonstrate the Academy's commitment to all staff engaged in supporting student learning.
There will still be a one-off joining fee of £50 for Fellowship (FHEA), [£30 for Associate (AHEA)]. Experienced staff using the Individual Entry Route will need to pay an additional application evaluation fee of £35.
