The Staff Development Centre offers several programmes leading to qualifications, as well as a full and varied open programme of training courses, with the intention of building a climate of continuous improvement, professional development and a learning organisation.

Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education (PGCAPHE) - The Programme is designed to meet the needs of HE lecturers at the University of Leicester and beyond, and aspirations of staff working in a research-intensive institution.

Developing Global Approaches to Practice continued professional development programme - To encourage staff to engage with issues of ESD and in small teams, explore how they can incorporate and develop an aspect of this theme into their work practice. Successful completion leads to the SEDA Responding to Change in Higher Education Award.

Enhancing Research Practice Award (ERP) - The Award is designed to meet the needs of staff wishing to take more structured opportunities for continued professional development in research-based activities. The ERP programme has been recognised by the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA).

Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 2 Award in Team Leading - This Award aims to give practising or potential team leaders the foundation for their formal development in this role.

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) -
Would you like to gain a computer qualification to acknowledge your computer skills? The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is a European wide qualification in Information and Communication Technology Skills. -
National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) - A qualification which assesses someone's competence (that is the skills, knowledge and understanding they have) in a work situation. NVQs are based on national occupational standards (delivered by Leicester College).
