Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Forum
The Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Forum was established in May 2007 by a group of University staff from a wide variety of different departments. Through partnership, innovation and the sharing of information the forum aims to contribute to the advancement of a higher educational curriculum that will integrate learning for sustainability into professional, academic and personal practice.
The purpose of the Forum is to:
Current curriculum initiatives by forum members include an accredited undergraduate sustainable futures module (run by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Science) a new masters level teacher training course in ESD (run by the School of Education) and a CPD programme for university staff in developing global approaches to practice (run by the Staff Development Centre). The ESD Forum welcomes anyone interested in finding out more or who would like to contribute to its activities. The ESD Forum meets monthly (usually the last Friday of each month from 12.00 - 1.30pm).
