Course Overview

This course will enable you to consider the stages and activities involved in running a successful project.  It is an interactive two day programme covering the underpinning knowledge and tools for project management including an overview of the PRINCE2 method. 

After this course you can go on to take the PRINCE2 Foundation course or the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Award

Duration:  A Two-Day Course

There are no further dates for the PRINCE2 foundation scheduled at present.

Please complete the separate application form for the PRINCE2 Foundation (not the on-line booking form) as this allows us to allocate places on a priority basis.
Booking forms must be received six weeks in advance of the published date. 

What will I get out of this course? 

On completion of the Project Management course you will be able to:

  • Plan a project using appropriate project management tools and techniques
  • Understand the basic principles behind the PRINCE2 method
  • Consider financial and non-financial implications of a project
  • Use the basic elements of Microsoft Project 2010
  • Apply these ideas to your own projects
  • Who is it for?
  • For staff who are responsible for managing or working on projects.
  • Staff who currently or will be using PRINCE2 method in planning and monitoring projects.
  • Staff who are undertaking the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) award
Participant preparation needed?

Prior to attending this workshop you are encouraged to work through the Project Management on-line resource

This online resource is designed to guide you through the elements involved when planning a project.  It will get you thinking about projects - how they work, why they sometimes don't work and why we should consider project planning and management using the PRINCE2 method.

Additional Information

It is a pre-requisite that delegates must have attended Project Management before attending PRINCE2 Foundation.

What prior experience do I need?

No prior knowledge is required.

Formal assessment

After this course you can choose to go on to take the PRINCE2 Foundation course or if it forms part of an ILM Award delegates must complete an assessed piece of work, usually an assignment.
