Course description

Course Overview

This half day course is designed to equip you with the background and substance of the Public Body Equality Duties and individual equality rights legislation. We will discuss how the University is meeting these duties and rights culminating in an examination of your role as a representative and your part in helping the University meet its equality duties and improve equality of opportunity to both students and staff. Most importantly the course will offer you the opportunity to influence the University’s response and the Representative’s future role.

Dates(s)

Wednesday 11 July 2012 (9.45am - 1.00pm)
rescheduled from Wednesday 13 June 2012

What can I expect to cover?

We shall examine relevant equality legislation just sufficiently to understand its broad impact and how it is reflected in the day to day life of the University.

Finally in the light of what we have learnt we shall examine if changes should be made to the role,  and if so, what kind of changes.
