Course Overview

This half-day workshop builds on from the 'Teaching Essentials for Researchers and Learning Support Staff: Part 1' workshop and follows the learning and teaching process into its assessment stage.

During the morning we will look at:

  • The roles and purposes of assessment;
  • Key terms and concepts used;
  • The place of assessment in the curriculum;
  • Good practice in terms of marking and grading;
  • Giving feedback to students on their work.
Who is it for?

Colleagues other than lecturing staff who are so important to the teaching process in the University, including Researchers, Library and Computer Centre Staff, Technicians and Administrators who undertake teaching / training.

Participants will need to attend 'Teaching Essentials for Researchers and Learning Support Staff: Part 1' before attending this workshop.
