Overview

A series of four short seminars that follows the workshop 'Professional Recognition of your Teaching: Applying for Fellowship of the HEA'.  This seminar series will assist academic staff in making a successful application for Fellowship to the Higher Education Academy via the Recognition Route.

Date(s)

A series of four seminars.  This programme is scheduled twice per annum, and would normally commence in February / October of each year. 

Semester 2 2011-12 series dates:

Seminar 1: Friday 10 February 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)
Seminar 2: Friday 24 February 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)
Seminar 3: Friday 9 March 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)
Seminar 4: Friday 23 March 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)

Note: An additional set of dates has now been scheduled to run after Easter in Semester 2 2011-12, as follows:

Seminar 1: Friday 20 April 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)
Seminar 2: Friday 04 May 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)
Seminar 3: Friday 18 May 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)
Seminar 4: Friday 25 May 2012 (2.00pm-4.00pm)

Duration

This course runs for 2 hours each day

What can I expect to cover? 

These series of seminars follow on from the workshop Professional Recognition of your Teaching: Applying for Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

The contents of the workshops is decided by the participants and will cover areas of content that will help workshop members make a successful HEA Fellowship application.  In previous years we have looked at such subjects as; Contemporary theories of learning and teaching; Aligning teaching and assessment; Support of students; and so on.

What will I get out of this course? 

Learning Outcomes: To equip staff with knowledge and understanding.

Suitable for teaching and research staff.

Before attending these HEA Recognition Route seminars, it is recommended that you attend the workshop Professional Recognition of your Teaching: Applying for Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
